Thoughts of the Week 26
This week has been very different for me in a lot of ways. After the week in hospital, life has been much better for because of how well I have been feeling and I’ve been able to spend much more time with Kevin and Johnathan in the sitting room, which has been lovely.
I know you probably know the saying that life is what you make of it and in some ways I guess that is true. However, there can be circumstances that were or are beyond your control. And it’s not the fact they are out of your control that is important, I think, but how you react to them.
Being in hospital, I guess, is one of the most common situations where you have to give up almost complete control of your life. The medical procedures are in place to help you and are meant to ensure that you recover from what is wrong with you so you can return to the community as soon as possible.
However, whether or not you are in control of your situation or not, there is always a possibility that there is SOMETHING positive that you can look back on. Maybe it’s the joy of having the opportunity to read a new book, or a chat with someone that challenges how you think and gives you a different perspective on one or some areas of your life.
TREASURE
Life isn’t perfect all the time, but looking for something good in bad circumstances can help you feel more positive.
