Thoughts of the Week 25

There have been so many thoughts going round my head this past week - as you can probably imagine, the time in hospital was initially taken up with the thought of keeping my pain levels down until whatever was wrong with me was sorted.

Well, I know that not everybody likes to go to hospital and after my nine week stay from the start of February to April was just FAR too long and got me into quite a state because not everything goes as smoothly as one might expect.  Have you ever got along with EVERYBODY you come across?  Me neither.  And when you are in a hospital, there aren’t many choices and unfortunately not everything goes as you would like it to, nor do you like all the staff or other patients or vice versa.

It doesn’t mean there is anything wrong with you or with them.  It is just that we are not deep or best friends with everybody in the world.  We have acquaintances, friends and close friends.  I am also aware that some people also encounter enemies, too.  You only have to look at the fighting backstabbing that can go on to understand that not everybody wants you to have the best or means well towards you.

However, sometimes even in the most adverse of circumstances you come across someone who helps you pick yourself up.  They smile at you, talk to you, do something nice for you or show you photos or send a card or present or offer to take the kids out, or whatever it is they offer you.  And when it happens it is beautiful.  They tend to end up with a special place in your heart even when they don’t know your name.

I can think back to my early 20s when my car broke down just before a roundabout and a man got out his car and pushed mine to the side of the road, then took me to someone’s house I knew so that they could help me get everything sorted and home again.  A complete stranger, but I have never forgotten.

And I know you will have memories of your own of unknown people who have done something for you or vice versa

TREASURE

It doesn’t matter who I am.  I can always be kind to others and do my best for them because if we all are in the same frame of mind, we can lift each other’s days up and give people a beautiful memory they can look back on and smile at, even if they don’t know who I am or why I am doing it.
