Scams

I’m sure you’re as well aware of the fact that there are scams perpetrated around the world.  Getting caught up in the web of deceit can end up not only challenging but potentially cause monetary disaster.

There are times when it’s quite easy to see the scam coming, but the fact people continue to do them, indicates that in the end, it turns out profitable.  But that doesn’t stop the fact that it is wrong and causes trouble for others, for many different reasons.

However, in December there was a scam that actually set me off in fits of laughter and my son and I enjoyed a good joke at it.  I think it was about 4 or 5 years ago that I gave my driving licence back because I had had a seizure and had to return it.

Anyway, the scam was telling me that I had a parking penalty notice unpaid that HAD to be paid by 23 Dec if I didn’t want to be in trouble.  As I now have no licence, nor do I have a vehicle, or leave the house alone, it made me chuckle.

It seems that when some people set up a scam, they don’t always research to check it goes to people that are likely to be conned by it.  Seriously, if you’re going to tell someone they have a parking penalty notice surely it would be wise to check if they even HAVE  a licence OR a vehicle to drive!

Getting caught by a scammer is an unpleasant experience, but if it happens, make sure you let the authorities know so that others don’t get captured, too.
