Focus on the Family

Well, this is going to be a very different one for our family.  Johnathan has been unwell since January with no real improvement being seen even with some of his medication being doubled to help him.

I will admit he is under a brilliant consultant.  With my own care, I’ve seen all sorts of different consultants with varying degrees of excellence to mediocre to staring at them wondering if you’ve heard them correctly because what they’re saying is so far from reality. Johnathan’s consultant has been amazing when communicating with Johnathan, myself or Kevin.  She listens to everything that is said and looks at all the different possibilities of diagnosis with the presentation of symptoms.

However, even with all the testing she has done so far, nothing seems to be working.  So Johnathan is being admitted to hospital for a week so that they can do observations and every test they can think of to work out exactly what is going on with him.  We are trusting they will figure out what is wrong and what can be done to help him.

So as a family we are going to be separated during this time, but quite honestly, although one part of me isn’t wanting it, I know that if it gives us some answers to help him, it’s worth doing.  He’s only 12 years old and shouldn’t be needing to lie down most of the day.

TREASURE

Having someone who listens, understands and accepts what is said to them and are focused on helping to find the answers I think is everything in life.  Not every situation is the same, so individual solutions need discovering.
