Unusual Inspiration

Sometimes I must admit inspiration comes from an unusual source - one that you never imagined in your wildest dreams to happen.  As I have expressed to you I have been suffering from migraines and one of the problems I knew was the Treacher Collins playing up was impacting the muscles in the head and neck, pinching areas and giving me migraines.

However, as there were ALSO problems with the level of light and I also discovered I was struggling to read the subtitles on the television screen, it was pretty obvious I needed to see an optician.  But, if you’ve been reading me for a long time, you know that I am struggling to get out because of agoraphobia and even the thought of having to leave the house and GET to an optician to be able to have my eyes tested was just simply not an option for me.

Fortunately there is an optician in the town I now live in and they were willing to come out to me and test my eyes at home.  I know you’ve probably seen the adverts on tv that Specsavers come to see some people with disabilities at home, but this is a private optician so I was glad they were willing to make a home visit.

And guess what?  Yep.  I needed new glasses.  Not really a surprise.  I really enjoyed the friendliness of the service and the sense of humour the optician had.  He made the experience delightful and we ended up talking about my writing.

I was saying to him I didn’t have any inspiration or idea of what to write even though I was beginning to feel once the migraines and headaches were totally under control, I COULD write again.  And he said that on his Instagram and Facebook and whatever other platforms he uses (can’t remember the other ones) he talks about migraines and other things that new glasses can help with, so why didn’t I write about the pillow and new glasses and how they have helped my migraines?

TREASURE

The unusual inspiration I received from the optician has given me a real boost with an idea of where to start writing again.  I am very glad he was willing to come to the house and am now not suffering from migraines and bad headaches….long may it last!
