Mental Health Awareness Week
On Monday the mental health awareness week begins. And you have to know that, just as the body has many different conditions and that not everyone will admit to either physical or mental illness for different reasons.
Of course, one of the problems with mental health is that nine times out of ten, it is often difficult to look at somebody and SEE that they have a problem with mental health. And when somebody breaks an arm for example, or is using crutches or whatever so that it is OBVIOUS there is something wrong, I am sure you would agree they need/ed medical help?
But if you discover somebody has a mental health issue and they have not been to see someone, would you encourage them to go to the doctor to get help? You see, if you come across them in a situation that made it perfectly clear to you there was an issue, what would you tell them?
As having been a person with different mental health conditions, I know how easy it is to lose perspective in life and find life more difficult than it should be. I also know how easily and quickly my mental health can deteriorate.
So, if you see a change for the worse in someone and you think it could be related to their mental health, do you think you might be able to do something? Even if it’s just talk to a family member, friend, them, work, whatever?
TREASURE
Recognising mental health conditions isn’t always easy, but I am grateful for those who have realised it and helped me figure myself out when they make an impact on me.
