Food, Music and Writing
Food, Music and Writing
As you know if you’ve read much of my work that I love watching cooking programmes and on a Saturday morning it’s one of my greatest joys to watch James Martin. His programme isn’t simply about food but he has different people come in - other chefs, yes, but some actors and musicians and writers. I guess you would say that he brings other creative people into his kitchen and shares what they are doing.
Today one of his visitors was a man called James Morrison. Apparently he is going to release another music album or has already done so by the time the programme airs. However, I hadn’t heard of him so was interested to hear what his music was like because he creates his own work.
I will admit that his song started and it was simple, powerful, forceful and gentle all rolled into one. My jaw dropped open and I couldn’t move a muscle because of the beauty, vulnerability and sentiments within his work.
This last week I have been up and down creatively, getting overwhelmed and uncertain of what to do. I also had to confront my fear of technology and am beginning to learn how the new program I will be using all goes together and works.
TREASURE
A combination of food, music and writing was beautifully amazing and a precious memory for me. This next week I must remember to do just one thing and a time and focus on THAT one thing until it is complete.
