Bee Venom

I have seen SO MANY adverts for bee venom as a beauty treatment, as a healing cream, as in getting rid of marks and helping your body tone up etc - one even where a lady has a foot backwards, uses the bee venom cream and it goes the other way.

There are a number of reasons I would never, ever use bee venom.  And yes, if you want to believe all the claims and hype about it and use it, please go ahead.  But it has annoyed me and I just want to share my opinion of it. 

I do not have a problem with people needing to earn a living.  In fact, I KNOW we all need money to survive in this world.  And that’s ok. 

So now, let me get to the nitty gritty of the MAJOR problem I have with it.  I don’t know if you have ever had anaphylaxis but I have and I can tell you it is REALLY scary!  Your throat closes over and you can’t breathe and if you don’t have medication that can be given to you instantly, there is a chance of death.

Why am I saying this?  Well, my Nana (father’s mother) was allergic to bee stings.  And it would give her anaphylaxis and scared her terribly.  When people have allergies, some of them are minor but others have the potential to kill you.

And with some allergies, the person themselves don’t have to use the product, but can get anaphylaxis from somebody else who has used/eaten/touched the product and they come into contact with them. 

For me, personally, I don’t want to rub venom into my skin.  Honey, yes, bee products, absolutely, because I have never known anybody who is allergic to them.

Truthfully, i love honey and I enjoy the feeling using creams with bee products in.  I just want to be sure I keep myself and everybody around me safe.
