Pick of the week 22

I know that here in Scotland children have returned to the nursery/creche/school term but am also aware they haven’t elsewhere and I feel compelled to talk about it a little bit today.

As you are no doubt aware, I truly believe children are a gift to be looked after, loved and cherished.  Even if (like me) you find it hard to communicate with them at times and there is a need for a better understanding and relationship and respect between them and you doesn’t change it.

One of the things I believe with all my heart is that I need to allow my son to grow and develop and discover what it is he wants to do.  Yes, if things go wrong I am there to help him pick up the pieces but at the end of the day I want him to be happy and fulfilled and able to come to me whenever he feels or thinks he has a problem.

We are looking towards Johnathan moving into high/secondary/senior school next year.  We have been looking at the options carefully and weighing up what will suit him best and help him achieve his maximum potential in life.

Because, in my opinion, it doesn’t matter where either Kevin or I would prefer him to go.  Every child is a unique individual and needs to be in a place where they are happy and comfortable.

TREASURE

If I want to give my child the best opportunity to learn, develop and grow, I need to take their personality, comfort, confidence  and happiness seriously whenever I am looking to place them in a new nursery/school/whatever situation and people.
