What a year it’s been 5
When you have a variety of physical conditions, there are generally some mental health issues as well. That might sound strange to you but if you think about it, this actually makes sense because our body and mind are not separated…we are body, mind and soul/heart. Each of us are individual and we all respond differently to various situations.
Actually, if you think back to the time of Covid when we were all shut away from each other, I am sure you found that it impacted your mental health. Because we are social creatures, and had not been used to being isolated. And now suddenly, EVERYTHING changed for everyone. Nobody was exempt from the impact it had. If I remember correctly, even her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was feeling alone and one of her granddaughters suggested she have a new dog so she had company. Even royalty was impacted by the situation.
For me, mentally, this year has been a total challenge. What with Johnathan’s ill health and Kevin’s sudden emergency need had a massive impact on me. Even with the medication I normally take, I unfortunately managed to reach a new low and had to have the medication increased to the highest dose.
I think what needs to be remembered is that it’s not a bad thing to have mental health issues but when we do, help must be sought out, even if it’s the very last thing we want to do. Even having had so many years of struggling, I could only speak to certain people at the doctors. We need to be kind to ourselves, accept when we need help and reach out for it.
